Blue, The Almighty
by Alan Valdez
Wide, deep, and blue..
You rush to shore expanding your reach,
You meet resistance from sturdy rock and mighty tree
Pull… push.. but crash
Slowly you pull back
Walking away with an exhausted will
It’s alright, you must rest
Fall in love with trying,
Before an eternity
You will push and meet sturdy rock and mighty tree
one more time,
Wide, deep, and blue..
You rush to shore expanding your reach,
You meet resistance from a sturdy rock and a mighty tree
Pull… push.. but crash
Ready to weep and walk away
Never to be seen
The sky roars,
And the anger strikes,
A static dances, scurries on the surface of the body of blue
You rush the shore and push
Not expecting victory
Cracks and crumble are heard
Feeling your own might in victory
Calm and silence..
Tomorrow the mighty blue will return,
Doing what you love, you take a piece of the wooden giant that lies in defeat
The rock reduced to sand, dispersed
